Fall Style with a Twist

I love decorating for fall, but since my fall design strategy last year heavily favored traditional autumn colors such as orange, I was looking for something a bit different this season! It turns out I’m not alone, as top design bloggers and favorite retailers are embracing the idea of bringing fall home in a unique way (rather than changing your home to fit what you think fall design should look like). That’s why today I’m featuring 10 inspirational ideas that represent the best in fall style…with a twist! Enjoy.

Floral Statements

Let’s start with the flowers. Because floral arrangements are always a great place to begin! I’m loving how blogger and entertaining expert Camille Styles gave her living room a fall makeover with a Loloi rug and a beautiful vase of lilies in burgundy. A great use of rich color in a space filled with neutral tones:

Fabulous Pumpkins

Do you look forward to buying your fall pumpkins this year? I do! As mentioned, last year I used an orange pumpkin as the centerpiece to my living room, but this year I was determined to do something different. If you’re looking for something unique as well, check out these DIY Marbled Pumpkins from Proper. Marbling paints are your friend for this project:

Unique Decor

Last but not least, let’s celebrate the power of unique fall decor that captures some of today’s most interesting design trends. Since the previous section left off with pineapples, that’s where this one will begin! How amazing are these pineapple pillows from CB2‘s new fall collection?! There’s no need to pack away the tropical style because it’s autumn.

As Halloween nears, go minimalist and modern with this DIY Ghost Figure from MyDubio. Clay is used to create the form, while white nail polish is the “paint” of choice. A porcelain pen is perfect for finishing off the project with two eyes! Side note: this clever DIY endeavor is inspired by these ghosts from Arhoj.

Finally, top your fall table with a display of geo goodness, starting with the Ventana Table Runner and Intermix Dinnerware, both from CB2:
