Contemporary Texas Residence Combines Antique Touches With Cool Blue Accents

Located in the heart of Austin, Texas is the stylish and modern Cat Mountain Residence designed with a sense of freshness by Cornerstone Architects. Located in a rough and untamed landscape, the residence presents a chic contemporary contrast. Yet, step inside and you will come across elegantly placed stone surfaces, beautiful exposed wooden beams that grace the ceiling and a tinge of copper here and there to invite the rustic exteriors indoors. A seamless amalgamation of the antique and the trendy, the home exudes grace and tranquility.

The renovation of the existing structure required an extensive makeover. Since the home owners wanted their revamped residence to sport unabated views of the world outside, glass has been used lavishly to achieve the best result possible. With maximized views and ample natural ventilation, this classic home was instantly turned into a more open and inviting dwelling.

While the interiors employ a largely neutral color palette with emphasis being placed on warm earthen tones, the presence of flowing blue accents throughout the residence is pretty obvious. This gives both the interiors and the exterior an inimitable look and a distinct sense of playfulness. Plush décor is coupled with antique additions and fabrics with chic print to create a lovely blend of styles. Pendant lights that seem to be partially inspired by steampunk in the home office. Aan open fireplace in the backyard with ample seating space around steals the show.

Marrying a sense of sophistication with old world charm, the Cat Mountain Residence seems like an attempt to bring together the best of both worlds. And from where we sit, Cornerstone Architects seem to have come up trumps in that exceptional endeavor!
