Bring some attention and focus to what deserves it most. Not only will this give your room additional lighting of a softer and gentler nature, you don’t need a manual, an electrician or a stud and wire finder to verify if you can proceed with wiring! Just purchase the type of LED lights you desire-tube, flexible, etc., – and install in any number of places: under the sofa for an edgy look, behind the molding of your wet bar cabinetry. This basic cost effective step can drastically change your room for the better.

5. Painted Door

In this Starbucks cult era the need for a pick-me-up and the desire to indulge in some of Seattle’s best is at times overpowering. Well, if you think you are the only one, you are sadly mistaken. They are sad, droopy and are at least ten years overdue a little pick me up. Some caffeine, if you will. Giving a door or two in your space a little “me time” attention through a brazen move of color can and will do wonders for your space. This approach enables you to keep your walls white or beige but you can still sneak in some color. Try it and see for yourself. I dare you!

Using a sharpie add some flair to each plate with a clever quote, special dates, names, a favorite expression, maybe some inspirational tip or if your brave some animation through art. Bake at 350’ F for 35 minutes, let cool. Arrange on your wall as fitting and enjoy for many years to come! (Project courtesy of DagensInterior)

From there give your room a quick dusting and sweeping and make sure your newly installed lights aren’t illuminating dirt, stray tennis balls and the lone shoe your dog got away with! Next empty the extra change in your DIY jar that through these frugal methods will enable you to get some drinks for a Saturday night shindig. Last step to sprucing up your room is to fill it up with people: People who will appreciate your less than 24-hour efforts. Cheers!
