Fascinating inside and out: Fray Leon House in Santiago, Chile

Santiago-based architects 57 Studio designed the imposing and complex Fray Leon House on the east side of Santiago, Chile. The extensive floor plan of this single family residence is composed of a modern collection of spaces displayed on three levels.  Huge trees surround the house and the property does not have a strong connection to the street, allowing the inhabitants to benefit from well-deserved privacy.

The H-shaped residence respects the surroundings and gently adorns the property, without disturbing the natural beauty of the landscape. The first floor occupies the whole H-shaped plan, while the second floor was delimited to the central part of first one. Each important tree on the property was given its own framed connection to the interiors. This way, the inhabitants will not lose track of the beauty of nature and will live a modern life in the presence of imposing natural elements.
