This intriguing composition, called Quatrieme Mur, was the contribution of Francois Bauchet and Eric Jordan of N°111 to the St Etienne Design Biennal 2010.

The installation consisted of an invigorating arrangement of everyday objects making up a rhythmic scenography and meant to inspire the observer to rethink shapes and relations between everyday and domestic objects.

According to the designers, Quatrueme Mur is an “intellectual wall”, that places this often unnoticed domestic scenography at a distance from the viewer, challenging him to acknowledge, criticize and rethink it.

Regardless of whether this composition accomplishes its intellectual and artistic goal, it makes for a fine inspired and sculptural living room arrangement.
