Designer Andy Murray has added to its Matthew Hilton furniture collection with the functional Sea Defence. Although it may not be the most inspired name, that didn’t stop him from winning the first prize for Furniture Design at the prestigious D&AD Student Awards 2009. That aside, Andy has ensured that his design acquires various forms as the multipurpose piece of furniture doubles both as a wall-mounted shelf and a stylish coffee table, as well. Carved in American White Oak or American Black Walnut, the stand-in book rack deepens the overall character of a study room just. Not up for sale for the moment, but we’d like to bring one at home.
