The office features huge open working spaces, two-storey oriental garden with crossing bridges, numerous training rooms and a full-food service cafeteria. The oriental garden is the center of creativity in the building. The vertical elements of the office landscape design are defined by bamboo trees and other artificial trees. The landscaping was taken care of by Commercial Silk International and they have used artificial greenery extensively: Artificial Bonsai, Artificial Ancient Sequoia and Artificial Flowering Dogwood. All the extensive greenery brings extra exoticism to the tech-savvy building. The elements of green architecture aesthetics combined with the watchfully selected materials create an unparalleled office atmosphere for the employees as well as the clients. This is LEGO’s development department, LEGO PMD. The designers of this place were Rosan Bosch & Rune Fjord. LEGO PMD is located in Billund, Denmark and was created in 2010. It covers a total area of 2000 square meters and has a really fun design. It’s a very playful space, mostly inspired by LEGO. It’s a space where adults can feel like children while working. There, working is fun.

The design was playful, creative and innovative. The place features a walkway that has been transformed into an oversized sitting area, with light-blue padding that makes the walkway look like a fuzzy cloud. The cloud unfolds and reveals sofas and sitting spaces as well as a slide that connects two floors. There’s also a huge grass wall graphic and a giant LEGO man. The design is defined by a range of hues throughout, with everything in vivid colors, from the floors to walls, ceiling, furniture, cushions, covers and more. Slashes of red paint, stairs that appear like piano keys, old school video games, funky pop furniture, and a toilet covered through and through in newspaper articles – it’s all a part of the design. Last, but not the least, the fourth zone is isolated from the third by a perforated design wall with a tree theme. The two partners of the company work in this area. Next to this area, there is a small sofa with a coffee table and two big tables made of walnut wood and finished in white leather. All the interior elements and furniture are designed by Neopolis. The project has been designed by Vierka Dorčáková, Juraj Karlík and Krisztián Hruskó. The mix of colours and the contemporary approach with which the design has been dealt is very alluring.

The most important features of this product are its versatility – many seating units can be combined to suit the needs of each situation – and its simple shape that makes it easier to match to different design styles. Supported by a wooden frame, the Join seats are covered in fabrics of different colors. There are two backrest heights available, so that you can play with the modular design as you see fit.

Perfect for those long hours spent at the office, the desk features both functional and visually pleasant features. Made from massive wood – as the name expresses – the furniture item proves to be a strong and reliable accompaniment for a secure, hard-working person. Closed storage units allow the owner to keep the desk neat and clutter-free while the design offers a heavy, strong feeling of respect. The clean and simple look makes the massive Desk the perfect candidate for a modern office.

Having to take a lot of opinions into consideration the designers had to involve themselves in debates amongst each team, in order to come up with an inspirational and functional place. Their main goal was to create a space where inter-conectivity between creative individuals is a highly important aspect. To turn this into something tangible, they had to make the work space an open office setting without walls or any form of concealed demarcation.

Every space is a collaborative one in this agency, an aspect that enhances the current culture and encourages a more fun workspace. The designers even turned libraries and the staff pantry into team work areas. What’s more, the conference rooms are open and flexible, becoming great for internal presentations and brain-storming sessions. Everything is meant to open and project the collection of works that inspired DDB.

DDB Advertising Agency wanted an inspiring place where the staff could express themselves freely, so BBFL Design made their wish come true. Not only is it a great working environment, but it is also a fun and functional place to spend most of your time.

The conference space is an interesting room with red and white stripes shaping a modern design. These colored stripes were created under the brand name “Colornori” for an exhibition at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2009, and now, the modern design is displayed in this intricate real estate office. The conference room features some other interesting details: the customized “Silver” chairs by Interstuhl and the mirrored table frame that mirrors the stripes into an even more intricate pattern.

TBWA Hakuhodo

TBWA Hakuhodo wanted to be known as the ad agency that “thinks differently” and their offices reflect that. Based in an old bowling alley facility, this office fitout provides a playful and relaxing environment, as well as being one of the most beautiful you will ever see. Warm hardwood floors combine with grass-lined slopes and intermittent trees to provide a unique feel in an inviting, open environment. Above and below the offices are a bowling alley, a golf driving range, and other entertainment facilities.

Slovenia Chamber of Commerce and Industry

If you are like me, when you think “Chamber of Commerce”, your vision is filled with outdated design with a stale government feel; but not in Slovenia, where the CCIS building is akin to a work of art.  On the roof level is a panoramic garden while inside curving design and lots of glass letting in natural lighting creates an exciting, imaginative, and innovating environment for employees.

Manchester Square

When you visit Manchester Square, you may feel more as if you have entered a gentleman’s club than an office.  The unique office was created in a rehabilitated Georgian townhouse in London’s West End and spans five stories in the main building, with a two-storey addition in the coach house out back.  Furniture is conservative contemporary, with a design that perfectly melds the modern with the Victorian.  This is the type of environment where working late just might be considered a privilege rather than a chore.

Selgas Cano Architectural Office

If you love the great outdoors, then this office located in Madrid may be perfect for you.  Located in the middle of a forest, from the outside, it looks like a long tube with windows on one side.  Recessed floors give the impression that one is completely immersed in the forest.

White Mountain

In Sweden, White Mountain sits 100 feet below the surface in Stockholm and serves as the offices for a Swedish internet service provider.  Once an atomic shelter, in 2008, the underground facility was refurbished and now provides an office facility with a definite James Bond-type appeal.

Lest We Forget

We would be remiss if we did not include Google and Facebook on our list.  Both of the social giants have ditched the conventional for work environments designed to stimulate the mind and inspire innovation.  Other incredible office designs include the Pixar offices in California, Red Bull offices in London, Twitter in San Francisco, and Skype in Estonia.

Valerio Dewalt Train Associates came up with a wonderful, modern design that could easily suit their needs. After their collaboration with eBay’s Internal Workplace Resources Team they created a workplace prototype with some beautiful, flexible work areas.

The result of this project, that had the help of 5,000 eBay employees, are colorful and fun offices where everyone can benefit from the high technology investments, open and private work areas. They now have private semi-closed offices, bench like desks and some relaxing areas where they can talk and share their ideas.

Everything has been carefully thought out in order to create a place where employees can feel at home, where they can be free to express themselves. With the help of funky, comfortable furniture and bright, bold colors that define every work space, these offices are now the perfect place to create wonderful things.
