Maison Glissade Private Ski Club Home In Canada Has a Minimalist Appeal

The Majestic Alps and their snow-filled slopes spread across Europe offer some of the top ski destinations on the planet. But for those across the Atlantic, both USA and Canada offer some gorgeous snow-laden slopes that are equally enticing and far more accessible.

From Colorado to Calgary, there are plenty of skiing grounds that attract visitors from all over the world. No wonder then that an enthusiastic couple wanted a magical getaway built in one of Ontario’s private ski resorts; a task that has been completed with sparkling brilliance by designers from Atelier Kastelic Buffey.

Spotted on designboom, the Maison Glissade project located in a private ski club in Collingwood is a lavish contemporary residence that allows its owners to enjoy the nearby skiing grounds to the hilt while draped in luxury. With large and open interiors clad in lovely wooden flooring and pristine white, the idea has been to bring a perfect romantic escape from a hectic life.

One of the striking features of the home is its extensive use of glass for the top level that gives those inside gorgeous views of snowy slopes in winter and lush green canopy in the summer months. With no beams or dividing walls being employed, the vacation home has a ‘barn like’ atmosphere that is uncluttered and uncomplicated. The top floor sports the living and dining spaces that are all connected visually on one level, while the bottom level of the home offers ample privacy.

An ergonomic modern kitchen, smart lighting and luxurious modern comforts await inside this picture-perfect holiday residence. Clean and well defined lines combined with the picturesque setting outside turn a weekend here into a delightful and unforgettable experience.
