Oz Residence is a Contemporary Silicon Valley Home
The Oz Residence project is a contemporary family residence situated in Silicon Valley, California, USA, which was completed by California-based architects Swatt Mires. The modern Californian home features the easy-going nature of California, with open planning, rich natural materials used in the building. It also has a strong visual correlation to the beautiful gardens designed by landscape architect Ron Herman.
The concept desired by the clients was to have a home like a vacation spot where the family can move around casually, and chill out. The large house is built on a site of 2.8 acres which is accompanied by gentle slopes to the south and mature landscaping on all sides. The plan of the home is arranged in an ‘L-shape’ with 2 wings joined at a two-storey big room. This fantastic L-shaped volume, which is sheathed in mahogany boards and fully glossy on two sides, connects as well as separates the family living area and the sleeping wings on either side. Overall, the Oz residence does exude a magical appeal. [Found on Adelto]
