London based designer Philippe Malouin has recently presented new works – a collection named Gridlock 2. New Works (Gridlock 2) will be on display at the NextLevel Galerie, Paris, until January 14th 2012. Inspired by a system used to reinforce structures – architectural cross bracing – the collection displays several ultra-modern pieces that promise a series of focal points captured by the designer’s amazing talent.
Composed of raw, exposed concrete surfaces adorned with a domestic-scale grid system, the New Works (Gridlock 2) collection invited everyone to use not only the visual sense, but to also touch the beautiful pieces. The collection includes some fascinating pieces: the Powell Bowl, the Luder Shelves, the Scarpa Desk, the Svetko Lamp or the Delorean Wall Light. Which one is your favorite?
