The VolgaDacha House is a quiet retreat built in a rural area, near Moscow, Russia. Surrounded by pure nature, the residence lies near the Volga river. Home to a family with two children, the dwelling measures no more than 90 sqm, but offers a comfortable and cozy place for a quiet family life.
Clutter was avoided from the start: a minimalist design and very few furniture items ensure the serenity and stress-free environment. The architects from Buro Bernaskoni also constructed a wooden deck that surrounds the home and offers relaxing afternoons.
The living room and the open kitchen are on the first floor, while the bedroom and kid’s room are on the second floor. Little details make this home delightful: there is an outdoor shower connected to the bathroom through a glass door and shutters protect the privacy of the black painted home. Comfort in ensured by heated floors during winter but the concrete floors also allow a cool environment during summer.
