This awesome or awe-inspiring house was designed in an abandoned 1930s church on the shore of de Rotte river in Rotterdam.
The size of six average family houses, it is now the residence of a single family with 2 children. This vast volume, the actual space within the house and the church, has resulted in wonderfully tall and lofty spaces, filled with light or maybe the presence of God. The measure of this space is purely given by the complete glass facade, a transparent triangle reflecting into the water. The interior is truly calming and soothing, tinged with sacred symbols such as a ogival window cut in the warm wood of the ceiling.
